First, we differentiate an axe from a hatchet. An axe has a longer handle while a hatchet has a shorter one. The difference is that simple, right. The thought of an axe would be that its longer handle would be the best suitable given its more chopping power resulting in a deeper cut on a log.
This is not valid for the Husqvarna hatchet review, even though its handle is short. With its powerful blades, it can chop through hard trees or sturdy branches. This is made possible by its powerful weight of 2.2 pounds. It is one of the heaviest sturdy hatchets found in the market.

Husqvarna Hatchet Review and Feature
Its handle is made of hickory. It measures 13 inches in length. Fastening between the head and the handle is secured using a wooden and steel wedge. The handle is also curved at the bottom to prevent the hatchet from slipping away. The hole at the base of the handle is not totally useless as it can be used to take extra measures by adding the lanyard to it. It is also important to mention that the handle is made of wood and it is furnished and well carved. While this makes it smooth, it also adds to its durability.
The head of the Husqvarna hatchet is no different from that of an axe/maul but it is spectacular. Its extra weight and geometry give the hatchet a bigger chopping power compare to others for instance when we want to split a log. There is much ease in the downswing performed when hitting a surface because its added weight makes it easier to handle, unlike other available hatchets which require more chopping power as a result of their light weight. The head is joined with the handle. Steel is the material that the head is designed with and toughs it is hand-forged, the blade is carved to be rough sharp.
The hatchet also comes with a sheath. The sheath is sturdy and is used to cover the head of the hatchet. The sheath that made from quality leather keeps the blade of the hatchet sharp and gives it a long-lasting protection against any environmental effects.
A hatchet of about $40 is indeed quite expensive and when compared with others like the Gransforsbruks wildlife hatchet which starts at $110 it is understandable to believe that the Gransforsbruks would triple the performance of the Husqvarna. But that is false. Husqvarna has more versatile use with a great performance with still an affordable price.
It weighs more than most hatchets. Its weight of about 2.2 pounds gives it an added advantage over any other hatchet in the market.
Its weight might be scary but it can be carried along with a backpack or held with a hand. It is about 15 inches long. This is not the longest in the market or the shortest but being in between is not inconvenient to carry about.
What makes it the best hatchet?
The hatchet may not be praised for its beauty but when talking about its performance, it becomes the best option. The unbelievable weight of and sharpness of the blade makes it able to do more serious works. The weight of this hatchet gives more chopping power. The swing of a lighter hatchet wouldn’t have a dense effect on a wood as this hatchet would. The rough blades coupled with its weight makes it the perfect survival tool for any outdoorsman.
